So what exactly is a Target Market and how do you find yours?

Well if you’re like most people, when you first got started in your business, you probably thought everyone and their mum was interested in whatever it was you were marketing, right?

I know I’m guilty of this, Big Time! When I got started in MLM, I was trying to pitch my business to everyone! Friends, family, strangers…(almost got in a fight because of that, so not recommended)

And after all that struggle and heartache, sooner or later we all came to the sad realization that 95% of the people we talk to, honestly don’t give a flying funk about what we have to offer.

Now this could be for many reasons, they don’t see the potential of the opportunity, they think it’s a scam, they don’t like you, or maybe it’s just not the right time for them…But more often than not, the Number 1 reason why they don’t buy, is because you’re talking to the wrong type of person!

It’s almost like your trying to sell the best steak in the world, to a vegetarian…No matter what you do or say, they ain’t buying.

So why keep trying to sell steak to the vegetarians, when you should focus on that 5% who are meat eaters? I mean it’s common sense, when you focus on attracting only the buyers, you’ll make more money, spend less time and money on marketing, and it will be 1000 times easier to close a sale!

So how do you find your target market?

1.) Identifying The Solution Your Product Offers: Meaning every product out there is a solution to a problem, so you need to find what solution your product offers. For example, if your marketing a juice that helps you lose weight, well then your target market would be people that exercise, are health conscious, and more often than not, go bonkers for anything organic. Boom!

2.) Research Your Competition: Remember that old saying “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer!” ? Well the same holds true for your business. Find the top 10 websites in your market, and dive into what type of traffic they’re getting. To do this go to Quancast and research the exact demographics of your competitors traffic, this way you’ll know exactly what type of person to go after.

There you have it, two very simple methods you can do right now, to identify your target audience. Now your ready to develop an awesome marketing strategy, lazer target your advertising, and start seeing the kind of ROI you only dreamed about.
